Ho visto che quest’inverno vanno alla grande i dettagli realizzati con il punto pelliccia e così ho deciso di sfruttarlo per dare vita a un collo allegro e stiloso.

Ho dovuto fare diverse prove prima di imbiffare la versione giusta del punto pelliccia, ma alla fine ce l’ho fatta e appena riordino le idee metto tutto nero su bianco così potrete lavorare questo velocissimo collo anche voi!

Io ho usato un gomitolone di Candy della Adriafil (100 gr = 100 m, 45%+40%acrilico+15%alpaca, colore 80) che, nonostante la percentuale abbastanza alta di acrilico, è risultata essere deliziosamente morbida e per nulla “finta”. Il colore poi è davvero un must di stagione: un bellissimo mostarda che sta bene quasi con tutto, dal viola al blu, dal nero al beige, dal marrone al verde. Provare per credere.

 

I saw that this winter details realized with loop stitch are very fashionable so I decided to use it to create a cheerful and stylish cowl.

I had to make several trials before finding the correct version of the stitch, but finally I did it and now I have just to reorder my ideas before putting everything in black and white so that you can knit this fast cowl too!

 
I used a big ball of Candy by Adriafil (100 grams = 100 m, 45% wool +40% acrylic+15% alpaca, color 80) that, despite the fairly high proportion of acrylic, I found it deliciously soft and not at all "fake" . The color is really a must have of this season: a beautiful mustard that matches perfectly with almost every other color, from purple to blue, from black to beige, from brown to green. Seeing is believing.

Twinkling

In questi giorni sono tutta presa dai regali di Natale, come molte di voi suppongo. 

Ho improvvisato questa sciarpa per mia cognata: un po' luccicosa, un po' vezzosa, un po' colorata, un po' diversa. E vi lascio le dritte (in inglese e in italiano) per poterla sferruzzare!

I improvised this scarf for my sister-in-law: a little twinkling, a little charming, a little colorful, a little different. And I give you the instructions (in English and in Italian) to knit it!

Il freddo è arrivato e cosa c’è di meglio di un  morbido scialle per tenere al caldo collo e spalle?!

Ok, questa è una scusa.

La verità è che ho comprato un paio di nuove ballerine arancioni e non ho saputo resistere alla tentazione di realizzare un accessorio da abbinarci.

La scelta è caduta di nuovo sulla Alpaca Silk della Blue Sky Alpacas (50% alpaca, 50 % seta, 50 gr = 134 m, colore 130), nello stesso preciso colore delle mie scarpe: un caldo arancio perfetto per l’autunno.

Il modello stavolta è il Mizutama Shawl di Olga Buraya-Kefelian, una delle mie designer preferite. Il pattern prevede due opzioni per confezionare lo scialle: o partendo dalla base e quindi montando il numero totale di maglie necessarie, o dalla punta aumentando le maglie ai lati ad ogni giro fino alla dimensione desiderata. Siccome il mio filato è diverso da quello usato da Olga e pensavo non sarebbe bastato, ho preferito partire dalla punta in modo da potermi fermare una volta finiti i gomitoli a disposizione. Scelta azzeccata visto che ho potuto ripetere il motivo a fori solo per 29 volte invece delle 36 previste dalle istruzioni. Comunque la grandezza che ho ottenuto è perfetta e forse più ampio sarebbe stato anche fin troppo ingombrante.

 

The cold arrived and what is better than a soft shawl to keep our neck and shoulders warm?

Ok, this is just an excuse.

The truth is that I bought a new pair of orange ballet shoes and I couldn’t resist to knit an accessorize to go with them.

The yarn chosen is again Alpaca Silk by Blue Sky Alpacas (50% alpaca, 50% silk, 50 g = 134 m, color 130), in the very same color of my shoes: a warm orange perfect for the autumn.

The pattern is Mizutama Shawl by Olga Buraya-Kefelian, one of my favorite designers. The pattern includes two options to knit the shawl: or from the base casting on the total number of stitches needed, or from the point by increasing the stitches on each side at every row until you rich the desired size. As my yarn is different from the one used by Olga and I supposed it was not enough, I preferred starting from the point so I could stop knitting once the balls were finished. Right choice as I have been able to repeat the polka dots pattern only 29 times instead of the 36 provided by the instructions. However, the size is perfect and maybe bigger would have been too cumbersome.

Da diverso tempo questo filato giaceva inutillizzato nel mio bagaglio e quindi era arrivato il momento di dargli un po’ di vita !

Alpaca Silk della Blue Sky Alpacas e’ un mix al 50% di alpaca e seta che accosta la morbidezza e il tepore della prima alla lucidezza e brillantezza della seconda, a creare un meraviglioso filato DK (50 gr = 134 m) molto versatile. L’alpaca e ‘ un filato «peloso » e quindi molte persone non lo tollerano (nonostante sia ipoallergenica, sono in tanti che gli allergici all’alpaca), ma unito alla seta questa sua caratteristica si attenua parecchio e il risultato e’ davvero sorprendente : quasi nessun pelucchio lasciato a giro su maglie e pantaloni!

Insomma due materie prime pregiate messe insieme a formare un filato lussuoso ed elegante perfetto per realizzare accessori, come questo poncho da indossare nelle sere d’estate sopra vestiti leggeri o durante il giorno in caso di cambiamenti di tempo improvvisi. Infatti e’ grazie alla luminosita’ e leggerezza dell’Alpaca Silk, a qualche perlina e all’etereo motivo a buchini che sono riuscita a sferruzzare questa soffice nuvola violetta (colore Wisteria).

Parigi sullo sfondo ha poi fatto il resto.

This yarn was sitting in my luggage since ages ago and it was time to let it breath.

Alpaca Silk by Blue Sky Alpacas is a 50% mix of alpaca and silk that match the softness and the warmth of the first  with the gloss and brillance of the second one, creating a wonderful DK yarn (50 gr = 134 m) very versatile. Alpaca is a hairy yarn and because of that a lot of people can not stand it (even if it is hypoallergenic), but with silk this hairs characteristic is attenuated and the result is incredible: almost no hair left on jerseys and pants!

In short, two valuable materials put together to form a yarn perfect for creating elegant and luxurious accessories, like this poncho to wear in the summer evenings over light clothes or during the day in case of a sudden change in weather. In fact it is thank to the brightness and lightness of Alpaca Silk, some beads and the ethereal lacy pattern that I was able to knit this soft violet cloud (color Wisteria).

Paris on the background did the rest!

Qualche settimana fa, prima di partire, ho finito, dopo un paio di mesi di parto, in maglioncino in mohair e alpaca per una mia amica. Odio lavorare il mohair, ci vuole molto tempo e attenzione, ma devo ammettere che ne e’ valsa davvero la pena.

I filati in questione sono il Mohair Royal della Lana Gatto (80% kid mohair e 20% poliammide, 25 gr = 215 mt, colore 5) e il Carezza della Adriafil (70% angora, 20% poliammide e 10% lana, 25 gr =83 mt, colore 01). Ho eseguito il corpo fino agli scalfi manica e i polsini delle maniche con l’alpaca e tutto il resto con il mohair, in modo da alternare zone scure a zone trasparenti a creare un effetto elegante e sexy allo stesso tempo.

Del mohair ve ne ho gia’ parlato (l’ho usato spesso abbinandolo per esempio alla kauni), del Carezza no e c’e’ da dire che e’ un filato davvero bello, soffice, con una resa eccezionale e morbidissimo, insomma perfetto per maglioni e accessori da portare “a pelle”.

A few weeks ago, before I left Italy, I finished, after some long labour, a pullover in mohair and alpaca for a friend. I can’t stand knitting with mohair because it needs a lot of attention and takes a long time, but I have to admit that it was worth it.

The yarns I used are Mohair Royal by Lana Gatto (80% kid mohair, 20% polyamide, 25 gr = 215 mt, colour 5) and Carezza by Adriafil (70% angora, 20% polyamide, 10% wool, 25 gr = 83 mt, colour 1). I knitted the body to the armholes and the edges of the sleeves with the alpaca and the remainder with the mohair. So I alternated dark areas with transparent ones to create an elegant and sexy style.

I’ve already talked about Mohair Royal (I used it in many projects with Kauni for example) and Carezza is a beautiful yarn, soft, with a great yield and downy, perfect for pullovers and garments to wear without anything underneath.
