Oggi ho passato la giornata a
zonzo per Sydney e quindi ho colto l’occasione per andarmi a vedere Wool Modern,
una mostra concepita dal Principe del Galles per “ricordare al mondo che la
lana è la fibra preferita dai migliori e più famosi designers e decoratori e
per stimolare la prossima generazione di talenti ad utilizzare la lana nei loro
lavori”.

Today I’ve been in Sydney so I took the
opportunity to see Wool Modern, an exhibition conceived by the Prince of Wales “to
remind the world that wool is the fiber of choice for the most exciting and
cutting edge designers and decorators, and to inspire the next generation of
talent to embrace wool in their own work”.

Modern, Charlotte Lurot, “l’obiettivo di Wool Modern è quello di mostrare la
lana come probabilmente la più diversa, sostenibile ed attraente tra le fibre
naturali. La mostra espone i lavori in lana di alcuni tra i più famosi e
creativi talenti del mondo nel campo della moda, dell’arte, del design di
interni e concettuale. Scolpite, lavorate a maglia, cucite, drappeggiate,
ricamate o tessute, il filo conduttore è il rilevante uso della lana in ogni
opera”.

Like writes the curator of Wool Modern,
Charlotte Lurot, “the objective of Wool Modern is to showcase wool as perhaps
the most diverse, sustainable and desirable of natural fibers. The exhibition
features works in wool by some of the world’s most remarkable creative talents
in fashion, interiors, art and conceptual design. Sculpted, knitted, tailored,
draped, embroidered or woven, the unifying thread is the remarkable use of wool
in each piece”.

Questa mostra è partita da Londra
ed è già passata da Berlino e da qui, prossima tappa Shanghai, ma se dovesse
venire nel vostro Paese non lasciatevela scappare!
